INSIDE A SESSION

Fire Cupping
Both create suction against the skin, but they create it differently. Air cupping uses a pump or suction device that lets the therapist control the vacuum mechanically. Fire cupping briefly uses heat inside a glass cup to create the vacuum before the cup is placed on the skin. The flame never touches you.
It can. Circular discoloration is common after stronger or longer stationary cupping and can last for several days. The color and duration vary by person, suction level, placement, and technique. If visible marks would be a problem for an event or clothing choice, tell your therapist before treatment.
You should feel suction and pulling, but it should remain tolerable. The intensity can be adjusted by changing the cup placement, suction, or time. Tell your therapist immediately if the sensation becomes painful, sharp, or too strong.
